Rich Jacques is a Los Angeles based artist and Grammy Winning producer.
Originally an Art student from the Midwest, Rich has followed an inspired path in music since moving to Los Angeles in 2001.
Upon arriving in LA, Rich initially supported himself as a musical coach, offering guitar lessons to a number of Hollywood A- List celebrities. This includes Ben Affleck, Emma Stone and even the children of Don Was and Rickie Lake.
While teaching other people music, he patiently made his debut EP, Technicolor Movies. The song “Time,” from that EP, was featured in the 2006 comedy / drama ‘The Breakup’ starring Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Anniston.
Soon after, in 2008, Rich began ‘Right the Stars’, a successful 80s inspired NPM Records project, which he also fronted. ‘Right the Stars’ (RTS) experienced considerable notoriety through opening appearances with Flock of Seagulls, Bangles, Men Without Hats and Midge URE ; with whom they also acted as the backing band. Most notably, these projects gained numerous tv and film placements on the likes of Greys Anatomy, One Tree Hill and Pretty Little Liars.
Following three album releases with RTS, Rich took an artistic hiatus in 2015 to concentrate further on Producing and writing for other artists. Most notably Lisa Loeb with whom he won a Grammy in 2018!
Following years of personal and sonic discovery, this artistic hiatus has ended. Rich has returned full circle this 2019 with an all encompassing, minimalist and spacial sound which has been described as a “gorgeous slice of minimalist pop” (Dancing about Architecture) and “sublimely superb... tender and graceful.” (Rawckous Magazine).
